Advanced ROI Module
The Advanced ROI Module gives your organization more control and configurability surrounding logging and reporting on Impacts. It includes capabilities such as projecting ROI, multi-currency, Impact splitting by Location, and custom Impact schedules.
API Keys
API Keys are the authentication method for API calls.
API Module
The API Module allows your organization to create, delete, and export KaiNexus data through API calls.
Attributes
Attributes are the custom tags placed on Templates, Locations, and Impacts to help categorize them. They allow you to select from a list of options, called Attribute Values.

A Board is a configurable visual display composed of Cards that pull data from other areas of KaiNexus.
Branding Module
The Branding Module gives your organization customization options to help personalize your instance.

Card
Cards organize distinct units of information and display dynamic content to Board viewers.
Charts
Charts display data in a graphical format to help you visualize relationships between your data. Charts are a feature that can be added to Templates, and most often, your organization will have a dedicated Chart Template.
Charts Module
The Chart Module allows you to use Charts.
Compliance Module
The Compliance Module gives you additional security and confidentiality through features such as SSO, allow-listing IPs, and more.
Create Button
The Create Button is located on the Navigation Bar and allows you to submit new Items.
Custom Badges Module
The Custom Badges Module allows you to create custom Badges unique to your organization.
Custom Statuses
Custom Statuses help your organization rename Item Statuses, create additional Item Statuses, and choose which Statuses appear on which Templates.
Custom Team Role
Custom Team Roles help your organization to create unique Team Roles and add them to any Template.

Escalation Module
The Escalation Module allows you to configure Escalations and add them to your Templates. Escalations help you bring Items to the attention of a specific user, team, or Location.

Fields
Fields allow you to enter free text or numerical information. They are found on Templates.

Goals
Goals help your organization set Item and Impact objectives for Network Locations over specified timeframes.
Groups Module
The Groups Module allows your organization to form distinct Groups, helping each Group work independently.

Impact Attributes
Impact Attributes are tags that help categorize individual Impacts.
Impact Categories
Impact Categories are the predefined categories under which you can create unique Impact Types. They are Cost Savings, Cost Avoidance, Revenue Generation, Time Savings, Product, Resource, Waste, Environmental Impact, Tact Time, Lead Time, Cycle Time, Quality, Safety, Environment, Health, and Satisfaction.
Impact Location
An Item's Impact Location is where the outcome of the Item is realized.
Impact Types
Impact Types help document the outcomes achieved by your improvement work. They are unique to your organization and correspond to one of the predefined Impact Categories.
Impact Values
Impact Values are the additional classifications beneath Impact Types with non-currency units such as Time Savings, Product, Resource, Wastes, Environmental Impacts, Tact Time, Lead Time, and Cycle Time.
Imports
Imports allow you to enter many Items, People, or Translations into KaiNexus simultaneously.
Item Dates
Item Dates indicate when certain actions and Status transitions occur or should occur on an Item.
Item Filter
The Item Filter is a powerful tool that helps you create Item Lists by applying a series of rules that dictate which Items appear in the list.
Item List
Item Lists are a unique list of Items that you can create in the Items section using filters.
Item List Views
The different Item List Views provide unique ways of displaying and organizing Items within a List.
Item Statuses
Item Statuses indicate what phase of work is occurring on an Item. There are 8 Item Statuses, each representing a unique phase in an Item's lifecycle.

Kiosk Module
The Kiosk Module allows your organization to create Kiosk Users and use the Kiosk experience.

Level Types
Level Types are a means of categorizing Locations. Locations at similar levels of your organization's hierarchy are tagged with the same Level Type.
Location Filter
The Location Filter is a panel appearing on the left side of Boards and Reports; it displays your Network and allows you to filter data by Location.
Login Notices
Login Notices are pop-up windows that appear when you log into the system. They provide information, give updates, and are a great method for intra-organization communication.

Milestones Module
The Milestones Module allows your organization to configure Milestones for your Templates. Milestones are key features of workflows that require checkpoints, approvals, or validations.
Multi Chart Importer
The Multi Chart Importer allows your organization to update their Charts through an XLSX upload.
Multi-Currency
The Multi-Currency is a feature included in the Advanced ROI Module. It allows your organization to create multiple currencies in which you can record Impact.
Multi-Language Module
The Multi-Language Module allows your organization to translate your instance of KaiNexus into multiple languages.

Nested Item
Nested Items are nested beneath their Parent Item, indicating their association with a higher-level Item.
Nested Item List
A Nested Item List is located on the Parent Item and displays that Parent's children.
Network Attributes
Network Attributes are Attributes that are added to Network Locations to provide additional information about the Location.
Network Location
A Network Location is one node within the Network, which is a the hierarchical structure of Locations with your organization used to organize people and improvement work into distinct areas. All Users have a Network Location, giving them access to ideas and projects within their Location and associating their Improvement work to their specific division.

Originating Location
An Item's Originating Location is where the Item was created or ideated.

Panels
Panels are the sections within a Template that contain units of information, such as Fields, Attributes, Item Lists, and Item information.
Parent Item
A Parent Item is any Item that has other Items nested beneath it.
Participating Location
Participating Location is a Team Role on Items with the Advanced Team Type. Adding a Participating Location to an Item allows every User in that Location to take part in the Item.
People Lists
People Lists are a list of Users that meet certain criteria specified in the User Filter.
Personas
Personas are a way of classifying your organization's KaiNexus users beyond their User Type and their Roles. They are primarily used to label and identify Users based on who they are and how they use the system.
Q
Quick Filters
Quick Filters are an easy way to quickly filter an Item List based on one criteria at a time.

Reports
Reports utilize filters to display specific Item and User data. The Reports Section helps Users build Activity, Engagement, Impact, Attribute, and System Reports.
Responsible Location
An Item's Responsible Location is where the work is taking place.
S
SSO (Signal Sign On)
Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication service that enables you to use one set of login credentials (for example, a name and password) to access multiple applications.
Standard Work
Standard Work is a KaiNexus feature that allows your organization to pre-populate Templates with standardized Items.
System Roles
System Roles work in conjunction with User Types and Network Locations to determine an individual's access within the system. Most KaiNexus users will have at least one System Role, though a user can be assigned as many System Roles as appropriate.

Team Roles
Team Roles grant you permissions and give you notifications for an individual Item. They also describe your scope of responsibility in the Item's improvement work.
Team Types
A Team is a group of users with designated roles who collaborate together on an Item. There are four Team Types in KaiNexus — Simple Team, Standard Team, Advanced Team, and Author-Only Team — each designed to give you unique but complementary approaches to your improvement work.
Templates
Templates are a standardized format used to create new Items and design how they look and function.

Universal Badges
Universal Badges are Badges available to all organizations. Badges work to "gamify" the system, leading to increased engagement and collaboration.
User Attributes
User Attributes are tags that can be added directly to a User's profile. The User Attributes are Titles, Positions, Employment Statuses, and Certifications.
User Filter
The User Filter is used for setting criteria for People Lists.
User Profile
Your User Profile is located at the top right of your screen and contains information about you and your activity in the system.
User Types
Your User Type determines your basic level of access to KaiNexus — whether you can sign in at all and the basic experience you have once you do.

Wallboard Module
The Wallboard Module allows your organization to create Wallboard Users and use the Wallboard experience.
Weighted Scores
Weighted Scores is a KaiNexus feature that allows you to create rankings for Items based on custom criteria.
Widgets
Widgets are versatile tools that provide key KaiNexus functionality and information in one convenient location. You can add Widgets on a Widget Card on a Board.
Workflows
Workflows group together Templates based on a common function, scope, or use-case of the Templates.
