Item List View types

The different Item list Views provide unique ways of displaying and organizing Items within a List.

When working with any list of Items, you can configure how the data is displayed with the Item list Views.

Selecting a View type is largely a personal preference; however, based on what information you want to see upfront, there are View types better suited for specific situations.

Switch between Views

To switch between Views on an Item list:

  • Click View at the top of the list. When the list is in the Detail View, this button will be located near the top-left corner (above the quick filters). In all other Views, it will be located near the top-right corner.

  • In the resulting drop-down, click the name of the View you'd like to use.

Types of Views

Detail View

The Detail View lets you quickly see the most important details for each Item on the list. This View is great for when you just want a high-level overview of your Items or want to be able to quickly switch between them.

List View

The List View lets you add and remove columns to control which information is displayed for each Item on the list. You can add a column for just about any element, making this View great for times when you want to quickly check on certain aspects of all your Items at once.

Tree View

The Tree View displays the hierarchy of Items — how they're nested under one another — and, like the List View, lets you add and remove columns to control which information is displayed for each Item. This View is particularly useful when you want to check in on all the smaller Items nested under your larger projects.

Kanban View

The Kanban View breaks down a list of Items by status, helping you visualize the flow of your improvement work. This View is a great way to look for bottlenecks or delays in the process.

Gantt View

The Gantt View is a way of showing Items over time. With this View, each Item is represented by a bar, the position and length of which reflect the Start Date, duration, and Due Date of the Item. Like the Tree View, the Gantt View displays the hierarchy of Items — how they're nested under one another — and lets you add and remove columns to control which information is displayed for each Item.

Calendar View

The Calendar View lets you generate a custom calendar showing the Items' start and end dates. You can also integrate the Calendar View with your Google or Outlook calendar.

Hierarchy View

The Hierarchy View arranges Items in a tree-like structure with branches to show the child Items nested beneath each parent. In addition, you can customize which details are displayed for each Item in the list. Overall, it is a powerful way to view the relationships between Items.
