Release Highlights
Measure engagement at a glance with Habit Scores
Reinforce key habits in KaiNexus with Habit Scores. By committing to essential actions—such as logging in and clearing notifications—each week, you’ll generate a weekly Habit Score that showcases your consistency. You can then display your Habit Score, along with those of key stakeholders, on a Board using the new Habit Score Widget. Add more detail to Chart Thumbnails
You can now choose between the Simple or Detailed version of a Chart Thumbnail in your Item Lists. The new Detailed view includes axis labels, a legend, and data series labels, providing more insights without extra clicks.
Track progress with the Fields Populated column
We are excited to introduce the Fields Populated column, which allows you to track an Item’s progress based on the number of populated Fields and Attributes. This feature is especially helpful for assessments, checklists, and audits, so be sure to contact your Customer Success Manager for help setting it up.
Unlock new ways to award a Badge
Organizations with the Custom Badges Module can now create Multi-Award Badges that recognize achievements each time they occur, not just the first time. Additionally, we are enhancing your flexibility in determining who can award Badges and where they can be awarded, including directly on a person’s profile.
All Enhancements
API
- Ad Hoc Fields are now supported in the JSON Item Export API.
- JSON People API exports now include the Awarded Date and Streak Count for a user’s Badges.
Attributes
- Introducing Shared Value Groups—a powerful way to apply the same values across multiple Attributes. Perfect for audits and checklists, this feature helps you identify Items where a particular response appears anywhere in a group of Attributes. Contact your Customer Success Manager to set up Shared Value Groups.
- Weighted Score Attributes can now use values from a Shared Value Group.
Badges
- Organizations with the Custom Badges Module can now create Multi-Award Badges, allowing you to recognize achievements each time they occur rather than just the first time. In addition, you’ll be able to add personalized comments with each award.
- The ability to manually award Badges is no longer limited to Badge Administrators. When designing a Custom Badge, you can now specify which System Roles can award each unique Badge.
- Awarding Badges is easier than ever. You can now award them directly from a user’s profile or the Badges tab in their activity feed.
- You can now define criteria for Badge eligibility, ensuring that only users with a specific Persona, Role, or other characteristic can receive a particular Custom Badge.
- When filtering a list of Users, it is now possible to exclude users with a Badge that another Badge has superseded. This helps you isolate users who have received one Badge in a series but not a later Badge.
- We've improved the platform’s UI when Custom or Universal Badges are discontinued. Once disabled, these Badges will no longer appear anywhere in the platform.
- We made a visual improvement to the Badges tab of the User Activity window.
- We enhanced performance on Badge processing.
Boards
- A single Board in Slideshow mode will refresh at your set interval, preventing timeout issues.
Bulk Change
- We made holistic performance improvements to Bulk Change.
Charts
- Want more clarity in your Chart thumbnails? Now, you can display a Detailed version with axis labels, a legend, and data series labels in Item Lists. Simply enable this option in the List’s View Options.
- We updated the failed Item Submission email to indicate that an empty body or subject line can cause failed submissions.
Filter
- You can now filter an Item List based on whether specific users have commented on an Item within a set timeframe. This makes it easier to track stakeholder engagement and identify Items you haven’t commented on yet.
Framework
- We’ve implemented massive improvements to how attachments and files are handled in KaiNexus, improving security and performance.
Habits
- Stay on top of key habits in KaiNexus with Habit Scores. You and key stakeholders can now commit to essential actions—like logging in, engaging with the system, and clearing notifications—at least once a week. This generates a weekly Habit Score that tracks consistency and reinforces accountability for everyone involved. Learn more on our Habit Tracking support page.
- If certain Locations in your organization don’t need Habit tracking, you can exclude them from seeing Habit information in the platform.
- The new Habit Score column in People Lists will help you display the current Habit Score for each user in the List. You can even sort the column to see the highest or lowest scores first.
- We are introducing a new Widget Type to help you track Habit Scores for you and other key individuals in your organization. The Habit Score Widget can display the current user’s Habit Score, or Habit Administrators can create one to display the score of a specific user.
List
- Organizations utilizing the Milestones Module can now add a Days in Milestone Status column to their Item Lists to visualize how long Milestones have been in a certain status, such as Ready for Approval or Deadline Overdue.
- You can now filter an Item List based on whether a Milestone has been in a certain Status in the past. Use the Milestone Status History criteria in the Item Filter to get started.
- You can now choose to hide Item counts on Nested Item Lists for all Items of a Template Type. Contact your Customer Success Manager for help turning on this feature.
- Nested Item Lists can now include a Create Button that is always visible, making creating new nested Items more intuitive.

Reports
- You can now click on the data points in a Cycle Time by Milestone Report to view the Items contributing to that data.
- We improved data accuracy in the Cycle Time by Milestone Report when a Milestone's Cycle Time Start is set to the Start Date.
Roles
- If you haven’t added icons to your System Roles yet, now is the perfect time. These icons now appear alongside the role’s name in more places, including additional administration pages, user profiles, and the Roles column in People List Cards, improving visual management across the platform.
XLSX
- Exported Impact and Number field data in XLSX files will now be in Number format instead of Text, making post-export data manipulation easier.
Bug Fixes
- Creating a Resource or Time Investment Type will now result in the corresponding administration page appearing, regardless of the presence of an Impact Type with that category.
- The order of Fields and Attributes will no longer break a conditional logic chain on a Template.
- Deleted Attribute Values will no longer be populated on the PDF of an Item.
- We fixed a bug causing a particular Attribute to appear unintentionally on the PDF of certain Items.
- Removing Badge warning logs for one user will no longer remove warnings for other users.
- Report Cards in Bowling View will no longer display unsupported export options.
- Conditional Ad Hoc Fields will now be cleared from exports and Reports when their conditions are no longer met.
- We fixed a bug causing certain Ad Hoc Field rows to reappear after being removed.
- Settings that auto-populate an Item’s Originating Location will now work even when the Location is hidden from the Create Screen.
- When creating an Item that should inherit the Originating or Responsible Location from its parent, the Location will now be correctly inherited when you select the parent using Item Search.
- We fixed a bug that caused Items’ Responsible Location field to remain empty in certain cases when it should have auto-populated.
- Kiosk Users submitting an Item that defaults to a Status other than New will no longer receive an error message. Instead, the submitted Item will always default to New Status, regardless of Template settings.
- We fixed a bug preventing certain Chart thumbnails from appearing in an Item List.
- We resolved an issue preventing certain Items from being printed.
- We fixed a bug causing time calculations in certain Cycle Time Reports to be inaccurate due to daylight savings time boundaries.
- Drill-downs in Cycle Time Over Time Reports no longer show inaccurate Item counts when filtered by Impact Location.
- Items with multiple Impacts will no longer be duplicated on Cycle Time Reports filtered by Impact Location.
- Attributes removed from a Template will no longer trigger inheritance logic.
- We fixed a bug that caused issues in the Items section when an Ad Hoc number field was set to an incorrect format.
- We fixed a bug preventing Wallboard or Kiosk Users from signing in under certain conditions during account creation.
- We resolved an issue causing a certain Wallboard User to time out during Slideshow mode.
- Wallboard Users can now successfully dismiss Login Notices.
- Link Button Widgets no longer enter a bad state when switching URLs and other link types.
