Track an Item's progress based on how many Fields and Attributes are populated.
The Fields Populated column helps you track an Item’s progress based on the number of populated Fields and Attributes.
The Fields Populated column compares the number of populated Fields and Attributes to the total.
How does it work?
Before you can start using the Fields Populated column, you’ll need to work with your Customer Success Manager to decide which of a Template's Fields and Attributes should count toward the column’s total. Until then, the column will be empty.
Pro Tip: Only KaiNexus staff can update which Fields and Attributes count toward the total of the Fields Populated column.
For example, if you’re using an audit Template, you might only want the audit questions to count toward the total, excluding fields like “Audit Date” or “Priority.”
Once set up, any of the specified Fields and Attributes that have responses will be included in the column's numerator, while the total number of specified Fields and Attributes will make up the denominator. In the case of Ad Hoc Fields, only one column of one row needs to be populated for it to be included in the numerator.
Currently, this column is not sortable. If that's something you're interested in, submit an enhancement request to our support team.
Caution: If your Templates use conditional logic, the Fields Populated column may not be the best fit. Currently, the column counts all opted-in Fields and Attributes—regardless of whether they’re actually visible on the Item due to conditional logic.
When to use it?
The Fields Populated column is especially helpful for assessments, checklists, and audits. However, it can be beneficial anytime the number of populated Fields and Attributes is an indicator of an Item's progress.
Use the Fields Populated column to:
- Track completion of audits and checklists
- Identify completed Items that have empty Fields
Pro Tip: The Fields Populated column is available for Item Lists in List, Gantt, or Tree View. If you need help learning how to add a column to a Card, check out this support page. If you are working with a custom List, visit this support page instead.
