Release Highlights

Honor Rolling just got easier

You can now Honor Roll Items, even completed ones, with a single click. The star icon is prominently displayed in the Item’s header, so you can quickly see its Honor Roll status and update it.  We’ve also made the star icon more visible in the Complete window, making it easier than ever to Honor Roll Items as you finish them.

Visualize units in Bowling View Reports

Impact Report data in Bowling view can now be displayed by unit in addition to currency, making it easier to track metrics such as hours over time.

Plan Standard Work with Specific Dates

Items in Standard Work Groups can now be scheduled to start on a specific date, giving you precise control over when each piece of work begins.

Edit users anywhere

You can now edit users directly from their profile picture anywhere in the platform, with options to impersonate, change passwords, and update notification settings.

Block early Item closure

You can now require an Item’s directly nested children to be completed before the Item can be closed. This helps prevent premature project completion and encourages closing nested actions.

Capacity Planning

• A Capacity Schedule is now available for individual users. The Capacity tab in a user’s Activity window now includes a Gantt chart of all their Items and commitments, making it easier to manage their workload.
• Accessing an Item’s Capacity Schedule is now faster and easier. The Actions drop-down on Items includes an “Edit Capacity” option, and Templates can be configured to make “Edit Capacity” a Quick Action at the top right of the Item Work Panel.
• When a Template has a Capacity Category with the Item Type, you can now configure it so that anyone added to an enabled Team Role is automatically committed to the Item, removing the need for manual commitments.
• When exporting Item Capacity data to XLSX, the spreadsheet now includes columns for the parent Item’s name and ID, giving you clearer context and faster access to key information.
• We added a safeguard to prevent users from entering “0” for Item and Hour commitments, helping maintain data integrity. 
• An Item’s Capacity Schedule now shows the Item’s title at the top, so you always know which Item you’re working with. 
• We improved the tooltips in the Item Capacity Schedule, providing clearer labels for commitments and other elements to enhance the schedule's ease of use and understanding. 
• We updated the Capacity Category Quick Filter to function similarly to the Capacity criteria in the Item Filter. Both filters now return all Items with Capacity Tracking enabled that currently have your selected category active, even if no commitments have been logged. 
• Templates can now be configured to enable Capacity Tracking by default. Previously, we could only control the behavior of the Enable Capacity Tracking checkbox, but new Items can now automatically have Capacity Tracking turned on. 
• We’ve enhanced the Capacity criteria in the User Filter to make it clear that you can toggle between two types of filtering: whether someone is above or below Capacity, and whether they have commitments during a specific time frame. Helpful tooltips have also been added, allowing you to filter with confidence. 
• The size of the “Add Commitment” window in the Item Capacity Schedule has been adjusted, making it easier to view and use. 

Network

• A Location’s Level Type icon now appears alongside its name in more areas of the platform, including Items, Item Lists, People Lists, and User Profiles. 

Notifications

• We’ve improved performance for custom notifications that use the “Current User” filter, particularly when many users are opted in. 

Translation

• More areas of KaiNexus can now be translated, including windows for Plan, Assign, and Complete, Board actions, User Profile and Search options, Item actions, and Template tab names.

User Profile

• You can now edit users directly from their profile picture anywhere in the platform, with options to impersonate, change passwords, and update notification settings. 

Charts

• Charts set to default to Bowling view will now remain in that view on the Item, allowing you to maintain the Bowling visual without changing the Chart type. 

Reports

• Impact Report data in Bowling view can now be displayed by unit in addition to currency, making it easier to track metrics such as hours over time.  
• Displaying a Goal on a List view Impact Report no longer excludes Target and Forecast data, letting you view Goal progress alongside Target and Forecast figures. 

Standard Work

• Items in Standard Work Groups can now be scheduled to start on a specific date, giving you precise control over when each piece of work begins. Previously, only the “Decide Later” and “Dependent On” options were available. 

Boards

• When a Board’s Location Filter is set to User Preference, and your last selected Location was a Starred Location, the Starred section will automatically expand the next time you view the Board, making it easier to see which Locations are selected. 

Dates

• We improved Date Panels for clarity and ease of use, including a pencil icon next to Dates to make editing obvious. 

Items

• You can now require an Item’s directly nested children to be completed before the Item can be closed. This helps prevent premature project completion and encourages closing nested actions. Contact your Customer Success Manager to enable this feature on your Templates. 
• When you delete an Item from a Nested Item List, the parent Item will automatically refresh to update the list and reflect the change. 

Kiosk

• When an Item is submitted through a Kiosk, the timeline now shows the person who submitted it rather than the Kiosk User, making it easier to track contributions. 

Recognition

• You can now Honor Roll Items, even completed ones, with a single click. The star icon is prominently displayed in the Item’s header, making it effortless to see an Item’s Honor Roll status and quickly update it.  
• We moved the star icon in the Complete and Resolution windows to a more prominent position, making it easier than ever to Honor Roll Items as you complete them. 

Bug Fixes

• We resolved an issue where Fields and Attributes removed from a Template would still appear when filtering your organization’s Fields and Attributes by that Template. 
• Declining the End User License Agreement (EULA) on the account activation page will no longer automatically check the agreement box. 
• We fixed a bug that caused Weighted Attributes to enter an invalid state after certain JSON imports. 
• Attributes with Conditional Values will no longer appear incorrectly grayed out when their only available values fall outside the user’s Location.  
• The Bulk Change drop-down on Nested Item List Panels now displays properly on smaller screens. 
• We resolved a problem that prevented a specific Chart from opening.
• We addressed an issue where the Chart data series would display incorrect colors under certain circumstances. 
• Line breaks will now be respected in the ghost text of Fields in the Item Work Panel. 
• We fixed a bug that prevented a specific browser extension from allowing users to assign roles. 
• Goal Value entries will no longer be lost when their associated Locations are collapsed in the Network structure. 
• We fixed a bug that caused certain public Items to be toggled private unintentionally.
• Deferred and Draft Status columns will no longer be empty on certain Kanban Lists. 
• We fixed a bug causing some Impact by Impact Value Reports to fail to load under certain report selections. 
• We fixed an issue where a specific Attribute Summary Report in Attribute mode failed to load. 
• Creating a new user in an Excluded Activity Location will now work as expected.
