KaiNexus 3.2.7 Release Notes
September 12th, 2025
Release Highlights
New presentation mode added to Items
Just like Boards, you can now present individual Items. Choose the panels you’d like to highlight and move through them one at a time to streamline your project presentations.
Pin the Category or Date column while editing Charts
Do you often edit Charts with a lot of data series? You can now pin the Category or Date column to ensure it is always visible while scrolling through the Chart Edit window.
Visualize an Item’s Top-Level Parent
Introducing a new Item List column: Top-Level Parent. See the highest-level parent in an Item’s hierarchy to manage multi-level projects more efficiently.
Tree view added to "by Location" Reports
"By Location" Reports now feature Tree view, which arranges Locations by the Network hierarchy for a clearer picture of data flow throughout your organization.
Create nested Items from a List
We've made it easier than ever to add nested Items. You can now create them directly from an Item's Quick Edit menu in a List, which you can access with a right-click or by selecting the Item’s ellipsis icon.
All Enhancements
Items
- We updated the formatting of compact Panels to create a cleaner, more polished look when viewing Items on both desktop and mobile.
- When converting Items, the “Add Current Team” checkbox has been renamed to “Transfer Team,” and the tooltip has been updated to clearly explain how the team is carried over to the new Template.
- You can now expand additional Item Panels to full screen, including Team, Dates, Milestones, and Resolution.
- Just like Boards, you can now present individual Items. Choose the panels you’d like to highlight and move through them one at a time to streamline your project presentations.
Fields
- Date & Time Fields now support 24-hour time format.
Lists
- Private Items shown in the Parent column of a List now display a lock icon, clearly indicating when a parent is marked private.
- Attribute notes can now be displayed directly in Attribute columns within Item Lists, removing the need to hover to reveal them. Turn on this option in the List’s View Options.
- We've made it easier than ever to add nested Items. You can now create them directly from an Item's Quick Edit menu in a List, which you can access with a right-click or by selecting the Item’s ellipsis icon.
- The "Goal" column in Item Lists has been renamed to "Chart Goal" to avoid confusion with other types of goals.
- Introducing a new Item List column: Top-Level Parent. See the highest-level parent in an Item’s hierarchy to manage multi-level projects more efficiently.
Team
- When creating an Item scheduled to start on a “Specific Date” or set as “Dependent on” with the Facilitator “Required to Activate,” the Facilitator field is now required, preventing Items from activating without one.
Goals
- Impact Attributes can now be used in Impact Goal criteria, allowing for more precise goal setting.
Reports
- We improved the visualization of Goal lines on reports, making them easier to see. In addition, Item Curve and cumulative Impact Over Time Reports now show the Goal line as diagonal rather than horizontal, helping you track progress over time.
- The Reports section has been redesigned for a cleaner, more intuitive experience. Report icons have been removed, and each Report Type tab now shows Reports in a single, easy-to-scan column.
- The Attribute tab has been removed from the Reports section to simplify the available reporting categories. The Attribute Summary and Activity by Attribute Reports are now in the Activity tab, while the Impact by Attribute Report is located in the Impact tab.
- Draft Items are now excluded from Reports by default.
- You now have the option to round financial numbers on Reports, Widgets, and Item Lists, providing a cleaner visualization of financial data throughout the system. Ask your Customer Success Manager for help turning on this feature for your organization.
- Decimal values will now appear for Time Savings and other Impact Units on Widgets and Impact Leaderboard Reports, ensuring accurate representation of Impacts logged in non-currency units.
- "By Location" Reports now feature Tree view, which arranges Locations by the Network hierarchy for a clearer picture of data flow throughout your organization.
- When working with "by Location" Reports in Graph view, the bars now match the color of each Location’s Level Type icon.
- You can now add the “People” column to "by Location" Reports. This new column displays the number of users belonging to each Location, providing more context for data interpretation.
- "By Location" Reports now offer a “Level Type” column, which displays the Level Type each Location belongs to.
- When editing Report columns, checking the header box for an Impact column now automatically selects the first sub-column option, reducing click-friction.
- An ID column has been added to the XLSX export of additional Reports.
- Archived Templates no longer appear on "by Template" Reports by default. If you need to view data for archived Templates, you can select the “Show Archived” checkbox to include them.
- Attribute Reports now have Workflow and Template Quick Filters, ensuring consistency between Reports.
- List and Report filters now offer additional date range options, including the past or next 24 and 36 months.
- When adding a Report Card to a Board, you will now choose the Report from a simple drop-down menu instead of scrolling through all the available options.
Admin
- You can now turn off Custom Impact Columns for Impact Report Item Lists. While useful for visualizing data, these columns don’t support currency conversion, so disabling them prevents inaccurate values from appearing in Reports where you are converting between currencies.
Chart
- You can now pin the Category or Date column while editing a Chart, ensuring the column is always visible when scrolling through multiple data series.
Filter
- The User rule in the Item Filter has been updated to include “Any” and “None” options, making it easier to find Items where specific Team Roles are either filled or vacant.
- When you filter a Board by Impact Location, Items with an Impact Location matching your selected Location will always be returned, regardless of whether that Impact is logged in the Target, Forecast, or Actual Resolution. Previously, the Item would only be returned if it had an Actual Resolution.
- Date Fields, Quick Filters, and Report date filters now include additional quick date range options, giving you more choices when selecting a date relative to today.
Network
- In Network Bulk Change and Location Search, you can now select a Location by clicking its name, in addition to using the checkbox.
Templates
- We can now design Templates so that certain Panels are collapsed by default.
- We updated the gray text color on Item PDFs to be darker and easier to read.
Bug Fixes
- Custom Badges with a filter narrowing down which users are eligible for the Badge will no longer cause Badge processing to fail.
- We fixed a connection failure issue on a specific Board.
- Users will no longer see series that were shared from a Chart they do not have permission to view.
- Editing the title of a data series no longer deletes date rows when those dates were added to the Chart via “Build Multi Rows.”
- Adding special characters to the title of a Bowling Series in a Chart will no longer prevent that data series from being hidden in Chart View.
- Calculated Series will now respect your defined decimal formatting.
- Long words or numbers without spacing will no longer overlap in AdHoc Field columns.
- Weighted Attributes using a Shared Value Group can now be updated through JSON and XLSX Item imports.
- Zooming out on your browser window no longer prevents the Plan window from loading.
- We fixed a bug causing “Not Approved” Milestones to show as “Ready for Approval” under certain conditions.
- "No Status" Templates will no longer appear in the Template column of Activity and Cycle Time by Template Reports.
- We resolved a bug causing a mistranslation for a particular Attribute Value.
- The "Actions" drop-down on Items and Boards now allows you to scroll to see all menu options instead of having some options cut off on small monitors.

- Item exports to XLSX now include notes for Weighted Score Attributes using Shared Value Groups.
- We resolved a bug causing all columns to be exported when selecting "Include Current Columns" on certain Item List exports to XLSX.
