Present an Item

Display an Item in fullscreen mode and cycle through pre-selected panels one by one.

Streamline your next KaiNexus presentation by using presentation mode on Items. This feature lets you display your Item's Panels one at a time in a full-screen view, guiding your audience through each part of the project without distraction.

Who can present an Item?

Anyone who can view an Item and has the General or Capture User Type can present it.

Which Items can be presented?

All Items created from a Template that uses a Custom Layout can be presented. Items that use a Standard Layout cannot be presented.

Ofie Profile PicPro Tip: You can learn about the difference between Standard and Custom Layout Templates in this support page. In general, if the Present option is missing, the Item likely uses a Standard Layout.

Present an Item

Ofie Profile PicCaution: Presenting Items is only available on desktop, not the KaiNexus Mobile App

To present an Item, open the Item with which you want to work, then:

  • Select the Actions button in the top right corner of the Item.
  • Select Present in the resulting drop-down menu.
  • In the Present window, the Item's Panels will be listed:
    • Use the checkboxes to exclude any Panels you do not want in the presentation.
      • Use the checkbox in the header row to select or unselect all Panels simultaneously.
    • Click and drag the included Panels to change their order in the presentation.
    • Not every Panel Type is supported. The following Panels cannot be presented:
      • Location
      • Timeline
      • Files
      • Links
      • Time Tracking
      • Weighted Score
      • Chart Goal
      • Voting
      • Panels using Compact display
    • Conditional Tabs and Panels will only be available to include in the presentation if they are currently being displayed on the Item.

Ofie Profile PicCaution: Panels must also be included in the Template's custom layout to be possible options for a presentation. Ask your Customer Success Manager if you have any questions about which Panels this applies to.

  • Select Present to save your settings and start the presentation. Or, you can select Save to preserve your selections for the next time you present.
    • Your saved presentation settings will apply to all Items of the same Template Type. These saved settings will only be visible to you, not other users presenting the Item.

Navigating through the Presentation

After the presentation begins:

  • Use the left and right keys on your keyboard or select the up and down caret icons in the top right corner to navigate between Panels.
  • To jump directly to a particular Panel in the presentation, select the drop-down arrow in the top left corner of the screen. A list of all Panels included in the presentation will open. Select the name of the Panel you want to see.
  • Select the x icon in the top right corner of the screen to close the presentation.
