Employment Statuses, or descriptions of the terms of a user's employment, are attributes that label and identify users so that other people in the system have a better understanding of who they are. These Employment Statuses are created and maintained by your organization and, once created, can be assigned to any General, Capture, Offline, Setup, or Inactive users.
Employment Statuses can be grouped under Employment Status Folders for organizational purposes. These groupings will be represented in the Employment Status drop-down when filtering a List of users or adding an Employment Status to a user's profile.
"Employment Status" is the default name of this user attribute. Your organization may have given this attribute a different name.
Who can organize the list of Employment Statuses?
Anyone with the "Global User Administrator" permission can organize the list of Employment Statuses.
People with other Administrator permissions may be able to access the Employment Statuses Administration page, but will not be able to make changes to it.
How can the list of Employment Statuses be organized?
Employment Statuses can be nested under Employment Status Folders and arranged relative to each other. Employment Status Folders cannot be nested under each other, but they can also be placed in a preferred order.
This organization will be represented in the Employment Status drop-down when filtering a List of users or adding an Employment Status to a user's profile.

Manually move Employment Statuses and Employment Status Folders
To move an Employment Status or Employment Status Folder, navigate to the Employment Statuses administration page. Next, locate the Employment Status or Employment Status Folder you want to move, then click and hold its name and drag and drop it into its new position. A dashed line will appear in its new position before you release it.
Dropping an Employment Status directly onto an Employment Status Folder will nest it under that Employment Status Folder.
Automatically alphabetize Employment Statuses and Employment Status Folders
To quickly alphabetize the list of Employment Statuses, navigate to the Employment Statuses administration page, then:
- Click Actions at the top of the list of Employment Statuses.
- Click Alphabetize in the resulting drop-down menu and the Alphabetize window will open.
- Click the All Folders and Values radio button if all Employment Statuses and Employment Status Folders should be alphabetized or click the Just Values within Folders radio button if only Employment Statuses nested under Employment Status Folders should be alphabetized.
- Click Alphabetize.
