Create a Monthly Goal to track submissions and financial impact at any level of your organization.
NOTE: The Admin area is only accessible by administrators; only Quality Administrators can perform the functions detailed on this support page.
What is a Monthly Goal?
KaiNexus has the ability to set goals for improvement submissions and/or financial impact at any level of the organization. These Activity Goals and Impact Goals can be configured at the Network Location level and are measured on a monthly basis. Using this feature increases long-term vision and short-term motivation to ensure the success of your improvement culture.
How do I create a Monthly Goal?
To set a monthly goal:
- Navigate to the Admin section

- Under Organization, click Network.

- On the following page:
- Hover over the Location you want to edit so that it is highlighted blue.
- Click
to its right.

- In the resulting window:
- On the right of the Monthly Goals section, click
to add a new goal.
- On the right of the Monthly Goals section, click

- In the resulting window:
- Select either “Improvement Count” or “Financial Impact” from the “Type:” drop-down.
- In the “Location & Below Goal:” field, enter either a goal for the number of completed Improvements per month or a goal for the financial impact value per month you want for this Location and its nested Location(s).
- NOTE: The Improvements or financial impact values located in this Location and all of the nested Location(s) below this will count towards the goal.

- In the “Location Goal:” field, enter either a goal for the number of completed Improvements per month or a goal for the financial impact value per month you want for this specific Location.
- NOTE: The Improvements or financial impact values located in this Location alone will count towards this goal.
- In the “Location Goal:” field, enter either a goal for the number of completed Improvements per month or a goal for the financial impact value per month you want for this specific Location.

- Select the start date of the goal in the “When should the Goal start?” field.
- Select the end date of the goal in the “When should the Goal end?” field.
- Select one of your currencies from a list of your organization’s configured currency options in the “Currency:” drop-down.
- NOTE: Only appears if you selected Financial Impact as your Goal Type.
- Select one of your financial impacts from a list of your organization’s configured Impact Type options in the “Impact:” drop-down.
- NOTE: Only appears if you selected Financial Impact as your Goal Type.
- NOTE: If you do not select a specific financial impact type, then the Goal will count all financial impact type values toward the Goal.
- When you’re done, click

- After you have set all of your desired Goals, click
.
Where do I view my Monthly Goal(s)?
NOTE: The Reports section is only accessible with the correct permissions; only users with “View - Reports” permissions can see these Reports.
To view your configured Monthly Improvement Count Goal(s):
- Navigate to the Reports section

- Under the Activity tab, click on Activity Over Time.
- In the resulting report window:
- To best visualize the Goal that you set, near the top right, select the “Custom” date option and use the same timeframe you used in your Goal configuration.
- Beneath the date options, be sure that only the “Improvements” workflow option is selected.

- The yellow Goal line will appear on your Report and you will see an additional “Goal” option to toggle between at the bottom of the Report near the status options.

PRO TIP: With the proper filter criteria, these Goal lines can be visible directly from a Board within Report Cards.

To view your configured Monthly Financial Impact Goal(s):
- Navigate to the Reports section

- Under the Impact tab, click on Impact Over Time.
- In the resulting Report window:
- To best visualize the Goal that you set, near the top right, select the “Custom” date option and use the same timeframe you used in your Goal configuration.
- The yellow Goal line will appear on your Report and you will see an additional “Goal” option to toggle between at the top of the Report.
