Track changes to the average time spent to finish one unit.
REQUIRED: To perform the actions described in this article the Advanced ROI Module must be enabled for your organization. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to enable it.
The Advanced ROI Module allows you to record not just the time saved in terms of people affected, but the time saved in terms of cycles that were affected — Cycle Time impacts.
Who can manage your organization's Cycle Time impacts?
Anyone with the "Quality Administrator" permission can:
- Create a new Cycle Time or folder
- Edit an existing Cycle Time or folder
- Delete an existing Cycle Time or folder
Create a new Cycle Time or folder
Cycle Time folder
Folders are used to organize the list of Cycle Times. Any number of Cycle Times can be nested under a folder, but a folder can not be nested under another folder.
To create a new folder, navigate to the Admin area and click Cycle Time. The "Cycle Time" administration page will open.
- Click Add.
- Click Create Folder in the resulting drop-down menu and the "Create Folder" window will open.
- Name (required): The name will be used to identify this folder.
- Description: Enter an optional description in this field. The description will appear when hovering over this folder's name.
- Locations: Use this field to search for and select any Locations which should have access to this folder. Only users in the selected Locations will be able to see this folder when logging an Item's impact.
- Click Save.
- Click and drag the folder into the proper position on the list of Cycle Times if necessary.
Cycle Time
To create a new Cycle Time, navigate to the Admin area and click Cycle Time. The "Cycle Time" administration page will open.
PRO TIP: To create a new Cycle Time and have it automatically nested under a folder, click an existing folder so that it is highlighted blue before proceeding.
- Click Add.
- Click Create Cycle Time in the resulting drop-down menu and the "Create Cycle Time" window will open.
- Name (required): The name will be used to identify this Cycle Time.
- Description: Enter an optional description in this field. The description will appear when hovering over this Cycle Time's name.
- Rate: Enter the estimated hourly rate for this Cycle Time so that the system can calculate the financial impact of each recorded Cycle Time impact.
- Currency: Expand the drop-down to select the currency that should be used by this Cycle Time. This option will only appear if your organization has multiple currencies enabled.
- The Default checkbox: When enabled, each time someone records that their Item resulted in a Cycle Time impact, this particular Cycle Time will be selected for them automatically. They will still be able to change it to another Cycle Time if necessary.
There can only be one default Cycle Time. - Locations: Use this field to search for and select any Locations which should have access to this Cycle Time. Only users in the selected Locations will be able to select this Cycle Time when logging an Item's impact.
- Under the Advanced header:
- Hours/Day: Enter the number of hours per day this cycle runs.
- Days/Week: Enter the number of days per week this cycle runs.
- Weeks/Year: Enter the number of weeks per year this cycle runs.
- This information will let the system more accurately calculate the time saved by any recorded Cycle Time impacts.
- Click Save.
- Click and drag the Cycle Time into the proper position on the list or into (or out of) a folder if necessary.
Edit a Cycle Time or folder
Cycle Time folder
To edit a folder, navigate to the Admin area and click Cycle Time. The "Cycle Time" administration page will open.
- Hover over the folder you want to edit so that it's highlighted in blue.
- Click the pencil icon that appears to its right and the "Edit Types" window will open.
- Edit the folder's information as described above.
- Click Save.
- Click and drag the folder into the proper position on the list of Cycle Times if necessary.
Cycle Time
To edit a Cycle Time, navigate to the Admin area and click Cycle Time. The "Cycle Time" administration page will open.
- Hover over the Cycle Time you want to edit so that it's highlighted in blue. If the Cycle Time is nested under a folder, you may first need to click the triangle icon to the left of the folder name to expand it.
- Click the pencil icon that appears to the right of the Cycle Time and the "Edit Cycle Time" window will open.
- Edit the Cycle Time's information as described above.
- Click Save.
- Click and drag the Cycle Time into the proper position on the list if necessary.
Delete a Cycle Time or folder
CAUTION: When you delete a Cycle Time or folder, it is permanently removed from KaiNexus and cannot be recovered.
To delete a Cycle Time or folder, navigate to the Admin area and click Cycle Time. The "Cycle Time" administration page will open.
- Hover over the Cycle Time or folder you want to delete so that it's highlighted in blue. If the Cycle Time is nested under a folder, you may first need to click the triangle icon to the left of the folder name to expand it.
- Click the x button that appears to the right of the Cycle Time.
- Click Delete.
A folder containing Cycle Times can not be deleted unless those Cycle Times are either deleted or moved out.
