Customize Card Headers and Borders

Add a secondary header to a Card, hide the primary header, configure color schemes, and set defaults for collapsed Cards

By default, every Card on a Board has one header — the primary header — which displays the Card's name and uses the Board's default color scheme. A Card's headers are customizable, however. You can:

  • Change the primary header's text without changing the Card's name.
  • Add a secondary header, creating a visual aid for Boards that have columns or rows tied into several different topics.
  • Configure the color scheme of the primary and/or secondary headers.
  • Add a description to the primary and/or secondary headers that will appear whenever someone hovers over that header.
  • Hide headers to create a streamlined look for Cards that do not need a visible header.
  • Set a Card to be collapsed by default to focus attention and save space on your Board.

Ofie Profile PicPro Tip: Cards that have a hidden primary header or a secondary header cannot be collapsed by default.

Cards also have a border. By default, they use the Board's default color scheme, but you can also customize the color of each border individually.

Who can configure Card headers and borders?

  • The Board's Owner, if they have the "Create Boards" permission.
  • The Board's Editors, if they have the "Create Boards" permission.
  • Anyone with the "Board Administrator" permission for Boards in the Board's Location.
