      Add permissions to a Card

      Configure a Card so that it only appears if specific Locations are selected on the Board's Location filter or permit certain users to edit that Card.

      Each Card on a Board can be independently configured so that:

      • It only appears if specific Locations are selected on the Board's Location filter.
      • Only people with the "Card Administrator" permission configured for specific Locations can edit it.
      • Specific people can be given permission to edit the Card without getting permission to edit every Card on the Board or every Card in a Location.

      These configurations — a Card's Locations and Editors — are jointly referred to as the Card's permissions.

      Who can edit a Card's permissions?

      To edit a Card's permissions, you must have permission to edit its Board. Only the following people can do so:

      • The Board's Editor(s), if they have the "Create Boards" permission.
      • The Board's Owner, if they have the "Create Boards" permission.
      • Anyone with the "Board Administrator" permission for Boards in that Board's Location.

      Edit a Card's permissions

      To edit a Card's permissions, locate the Card with which you want to work, then:

      • Click the ellipsis in the top right corner of the Card.

      • Click Permissions in the resulting drop-down menu and the Permissions window will open.
        • Location(s): Use this field to search for and select any Locations that should be associated with this Card. Once a Location is configured:
          • If a Location other than one of the configured Locations is selected on the Board's Location filter, this Card's data and title will disappear from the Board. This is a useful way of ensuring that people in certain Locations only see Cards pertinent to them and their work.

            If no Location is selected from the Location filter, or if the Board does not have the Location filter enabled, this setting will not affect the Card's visibility.
          • People with the "Card Administrator" permission for one or more of the configured Locations will be able to edit this Card.

      Two Line OfieNOTE: If a Card does not have a Location defined, only the Board's Owner and Editors, people with the "Board Administrator" permission for that Board's Location, and people with the "Card Administrator" permission set to everywhere can edit it.

        • Editor(s): Use this field to search for and select the people who should be given permission to edit this Card.
          • The Card's Editors can, depending on the type of Card, edit the Card, change its View, work with Bulk Change, view its Impact, and export it.
          • If the Card is in a Stack, being an Editor of that Card does not grant permission to edit the Stack. The Editor will not be able to move the Card within the Stack.
        • Click Save.
