Manage your Items on the go using the KaiNexus mobile app.

The KaiNexus mobile app makes it easy to view and manage Items on the go. You can find an Item by searching for it in the app or by opening an Item link on your phone.
After you open an Item, you will see its details. If needed, you can rotate your device for a wider view.
Pro Tip: Panels on the mobile app can be ordered within Custom Layout Templates. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to change how your Custom Layout Templates appear in the mobile app. For more information on Custom Layout Templates, check out this support article.
There are a lot of actions you can take while viewing an Item in the mobile app, including:

Change an Item's Status
To change an Item's Status in the mobile app, select the Status indicator beneath the Item's title.
Your options in this drop-down will depend on your permissions, the Template's configuration, and the Item's current status. We recommend referencing the following support pages for information on transitioning Items to each Status:

Edit an Item's details
Who can edit an Item?
To edit an Item, you must have permission to view and edit it.
Only the following people can view an Item:
- Anyone on the Item's Team.
- Potentially anyone on the parent's Team.
- If the Item is not private and not in the New status, anyone with the "View" permission for Items in its Location(s).
- If the Item is private, anyone with the "View Private" permission for Items in its Location(s).
- If the Item is in the New status and is not private, anyone with the "View New" permission for Items in its Location(s).
- Anyone on the Item's Team except for Followers or Participants.
- Anyone with the "Edit" permission for Items in this Location(s).
- For Items using the Standard Team Type, anyone with the "Assign" permission for Items in this Location(s).

Edit the Item
There are a couple of ways you can edit an Item: editing information on a specific panel or editing the full Item details.
If you want to edit information on a specific Panel:
- Tap the panel containing the information you want to update and then tap the pencil icon that appears in its top right corner. This will open a window in which only the fields and Attributes included in that panel can be edited.
- Make any necessary changes, then tap Save.
When you're finished working with this Item, tap the left caret in the top left corner of the screen to return to the previous screen (typically either your list of notifications or the search page).
If you want to edit all an Item's details at once:
- Tap the ellipsis icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap Edit Details in the resulting drop-down menu and the Item's Edit Details screen will open.
- Edit the Item's title and any of its fields or Attributes.
- Parent: Use this field to search for the Item (if any) under which this Item should be nested.
- To search for and select a particular Item as a parent, you must have permission to view and edit that Item.

- The Allow Responsible to edit Due Date checkbox: When this box is checked, the Item's Responsible Person will be able to edit its Due Date.
- Both the presence and default state of this checkbox are determined by the Item's template's configuration. Additionally, only someone with permission to assign the Items will be able to see this checkbox.
- The Allow Responsible to edit Due Date checkbox: When this box is checked, the Item's Responsible Person will be able to edit its Due Date.

- The Make Private checkbox: When this box is checked, the Item will become private and only its Team members and people with the "View Private" permission for Items in its Location will be able to see it.
- Both the presence and default state of this checkbox are determined by the Item's template's configuration. Additionally, only someone with the "Toggle Private" permission will be able to see this checkbox.

- The Honor Roll star: When the star is filled in, the Item is granted Honor Roll status. Typically, this is done to identify outstanding Items, flag them for future reference, and to recognize staff for their exemplary contribution.
- The presence of this option is determined by the Item's template's configuration. Additionally, only someone with the "Honor Roll" permission will be able to see this checkbox.
- Tap Save to update the Item.
- The Make Private checkbox: When this box is checked, the Item will become private and only its Team members and people with the "View Private" permission for Items in its Location will be able to see it.
- Tap Edit Parent to quickly edit the Item's parent.
- Tap Edit Team to add people to the Item's Team and update the existing Team.
- Tap Locations to edit the Item's Originating and Responsible Location.
Pro Tip: If the Item you are viewing is a Chart, then you can tap on any data point to see a tooltip containing the data point's value. You must use the desktop version of KaiNexus to edit the Chart's data.
Check for similar Items
To check for similar items in the system using the mobile app:
- Tap the ellipsis icon at the top right of the Item.
- Select Similar Items. A list of Items that may be similar will open.
- Tap on any of the similar Items to view its details.

Review an Item
To review an Item in the mobile app:
- Tap the ellipsis icon at the top right of the Item.
- Select Review.
- Follow the instructions on this support page to set the Item's Review Date.
Set a reminder
To set a reminder for yourself about an Item in the mobile app:
- Tap the ellipsis icon at the top right of the Item.
- Select Remind.
- Follow the instructions on this support page to set a reminder for yourself.
Snooze notifications
To snooze an Item's notifications in the mobile app:
- Tap the ellipsis icon at the top right of the Item.
- Select Remind.
- Follow the instructions on this support page to snooze your notifications for the Item.
Convert an Item
To convert an Item to another Template in the mobile app:
- Tap the ellipsis icon at the top right of the Item.
- Select Convert.
- Follow the instructions on this support page to convert the Item to a different Template.
Copy an Item
To copy an Item in the mobile app:
- Tap the ellipsis icon at the top right of the Item.
- Select Copy.
- Follow the instructions on this support page to copy the Item.
Add Files and Links
To add a file or link to an Item in the mobile app:
- Locate the Files or Links Panel on the Item. Depending on the Template's layout, its position may be different.
- To add a File, select + Add File.
- You can use your mobile device to take a picture, or you can select an existing file on your device.
- To add a Link, select + Add Link.
- Use the Links page to add a link to the Item. Reference the instructions on this support page for more information on adding links to Items.
Pro Tip: You can also add a link by tapping the + icon at the top of the icon and selecting Link in the resulting drop-down.
Add a nested Item
To add a nested Item to an Item in the mobile app:
- Select the + icon at the top of the Item.
- Select Item in the resulting drop-down.
- In the Add Item page:
- Select Create to submit a new Item.
- Use the Choose Existing field to add an existing Item.
You can also add a nested Item directly on a Nested Item List Panel. To do so:
- Locate the Nested Item List to which you want to add a new Item.
- Select the + icon on the Panel.
- In the resulting drop-down, select a Template to create a new Item of that Template type. Or, you can use the Existing Item drop-down to add an existing Item.
- Some Templates might have Quick Create enabled for the Nested Item List. If so, you can also tap Quick Create to add a new nested Item.
- In the resulting drop-down, select a Template to create a new Item of that Template type.
- Select the + icon on the Panel.
Add Standard Work
To add Standard Work to an Item in the mobile app:
- Select the + icon at the top of the Item.
- Select Standard Work.
- In the resulting menu, select the specific Standard Work Group you'd like to add to the Item.

Add Weighted Scores

- Select the + icon at the top of the Item.
- Select Scores.
- In the resulting menu, select the specific Weighted Score Group you'd like to add to the Item.
