KaiNexus 3.1.3 Release Notes

Grab a broomstick and join us for a spooktacular release just in time for Halloween. We’ve conjured up some thrilling enhancements sure to send shivers down your digital spin. In this release, we streamlined the Chart editing experience, deployed massive Milestone upgrades that will give you even more customization options, and made enhancements to improve your quality of life in KaiNexus. Keep reading to learn about all the sweet treats that await you!

Release Highlights

• We made significant improvements to data entry on Charts. While working with Chart data, you can now navigate between cells using the arrows on your keyboard and quickly add rows by pressing “enter” at the end of a row. Overall, the experience will feel like you are working with a spreadsheet.
• While editing Charts, you can now copy the value in one cell to all remaining cells in the column. Find the small blue dot in the bottom corner of your selected cell when you want to use this feature to speed up your data entry.
• We expanded the customization options for Milestone Approvers, giving you more control and flexibility over who approves your Milestones. Now, you can not only specify Users capable of approving a Milestone, but you can also assign Milestone approvals to specific people. The assigned Milestone Approvers will receive notifications when their Milestone is submitted, prompting them to perform the approval.

Enhancements

Charts

• The left-side columns on a Bowling Chart are now frozen. When you scroll horizontally through data, the column will remain for reference. 
• We made significant improvements to data entry on Charts. While working with Chart data, you can now navigate between cells using the arrows on your keyboard and quickly add rows by pressing “enter” at the end of a row. Overall, the experience will feel like you are working with a spreadsheet. 
• While editing Charts, you can now copy the value in one cell to all remaining cells in the column. Find the small blue dot in the bottom corner of your selected cell when you want to use this feature to speed up your data entry.
• You now can control which data series on Bowling Charts are visible. Defining the visible series on a Chart was already available on our other Chart types, and this enhancement extends the capability to Bowling Charts. 

Boards

• Boards with many Widgets now load faster and have smoother performance. 

Item Lists

• We updated the Items section drop-down options to include only the most commonly used choices. The “Last Viewed” option has been removed due to its lack of use. 
• Partial results are now displayed more prominently on Gantt View Lists. You will now see a warning icon at the top of the List when your results don’t fit on the first page. 

Attribute

• You can now use Quick Filters to filter Impacts by Impact Attribute Value. Before this release, applying an Impact Attribute filter would not differentiate between multiple Impacts logged in the Resolution of a single Item. If one Impact met your criteria, the filter would pull all Impact data on the Item into your Reports, Lists, and Impact Widgets. Now, Quick Filters can filter for individual Impacts on an Item using their Impact Attribute Values, allowing for more precise control over data. 

Fields

• Up and down arrows throughout the system have been removed from Number Fields to modernize their visualization and reduce misclicks.

Resolution

• We improved how the system calculates soft savings after changes are made to unit-based Impacts, such as Time Savings. When you update the Hours/Days/Weeks values, the system will update existing Impacts so that soft savings calculations are always correct. 

Notifications

• We've enhanced the performance of email notifications, ensuring quicker delivery.

Milestones

• We expanded the customization options for Milestone Approvers, giving you more control and flexibility over who approves your Milestones. Previously, you could only define the System and Team Roles eligible to approve a Milestone. Now, you can not only specify individual Users capable of approving a Milestone, but you can also assign Milestone approvals to specific people. If Milestone Assigning is enabled, you can pick from the pool of eligible Approvers and choose one or multiple people to assign the Milestone approval to. The assigned Milestone Approvers will receive notifications when the Milestone is submitted, prompting them to perform the approval. 
• We added more options for filtering Item Lists based on Milestones. You can now filter for Items with certain Milestone Approvers and create Lists that only include Items with Overdue Ready and Approval Deadlines. Try these new filters by selecting the Milestone Status Rule in the Item Filter. 
• You now can require Milestone Approvers to enter a Note when they approve a Milestone. 
• We are introducing a new feature that helps you prompt Users to take certain actions after they approve or deny Milestones. You now have the option to present Milestone Approvers with a window that cues them to transition the Item into a new Status immediately after they approve or deny a Milestone, helping make your workflows more intuitive. 
• You can now further order Milestones into sub-steps within the same column, providing a more granular breakdown of your processes. Use this feature for Templates with complex processes that would benefit from being broken down into smaller steps. 
• There is no longer a limit to which Impact Types can trigger an Optional Milestone. All quantitative, qualitative, and unit-based Impacts, as well as Investments are now available to trigger Optional Milestones. 
• We made it more intuitive and efficient for Users to add Optional Milestones to Items. Whenever a Template has an Optional Milestone that must be added to an Item manually, eligible Users will see a + icon in the top right corner of the Panel. Clicking the icon will present a list of available Optional Milestones that you can add quickly. 
• You now have the option to automatically add Optional Milestones to Items based on selections in multiple Attributes. Previously, you could only trigger Optional Milestones based on one Attribute. 
• Get ready for even more freedom on how you design your Templates. You can now split Milestones between multiple Panels on a Template; they no longer need to appear together in the same Panel. Having more flexibility on the positioning of Milestones will help you design Templates that guide Users through complex processes. 
• We improved the window that appears when you edit an Item’s Milestones. The window now displays the flow of Milestones at the top, and there is a collapsible details section to give you all the information you need in one convenient location. 
• We redesigned Milestone columns in Item Lists. Each current Milestone will be listed clearly and have a Status indicator. You can even click on the column to bring up that Item’s Milestone window. Lastly, we spruced up the Detail view of Items with Milestones to cleanly present the most relevant information. 

Bugs

• The “Migrate” buttons in the Attributes admin page are no longer difficult to access due to tooltip placement. 
• We fixed a bug making it difficult to navigate away from the “Add” and “Edit” modals in the Attributes admin page. 
• We fixed an issue concerning the functionality of customized Feedback and Support links. 
• Universal Badges no longer appear in a User’s unawarded badges when an organization turns the Badge off. 
• You can now successfully delete Boards referenced in X-Matrix Cards. 
• We fixed a bug causing certain Cards to show incorrect error messages. 
• We fixed a bug causing certain Board Quick Filters to disappear when translations are utilized.
• Report Cards filtered to a specific Location no longer sort lists backward when expanded. 
• Copied Report Cards now bring over the configured columns to the new copy.
• We fixed a bug causing Impact Over Time Report Cards to not render on certain Boards.
• Tooltips now appear on the second and third Thresholds of Charts. 
• We fixed a bug causing the scroll bar to not appear on certain Fishbone Diagrams when the Panel is not wide enough. 
• Templates with certain configurations no longer automatically create Fishbone Diagrams when the Fishbone is disabled. 
• The Total column on Activity by Locations Reports now shows the correct value for Items Completed Goals. 
• We fixed a bug causing the header on certain Gantt View Lists to expand unintentionally. 
• Parent icons now successfully load for Items in a Kanban View List. 
• We fixed a bug preventing Deadline Editors from changing Milestone Deadlines under certain circumstances. 
• Date fields for Milestones no longer appear editable when you do not have permission to save your changes. 
• There is no longer an error while printing expanded Item List Cards. 
• PDF exports for Items with certain configurations no longer fail when you include the Detail Panel. 
• Soft savings calculations in Reports and Lists now respect Day/Week/Year configurations when Realized Dates are enabled. 
• We fixed a bug causing the Bowling view of “Impact by” Reports to only show the first page of results. 
• We added a symbol limit for the titles and descriptions of Widget Cards to ensure they function correctly. 
• We fixed a bug causing certain Total Financial Impact Widgets to miss some soft savings data.
• We fixed a bug causing Item dates to be one day off under certain organization time zone configurations.
• All Milestone filters now exclude Items where the Milestone referenced in the filter is inactive. 
• Selecting “Uncheck all” on the Slideshow window of a Board no longer unchecks “Auto Scroll.”
• We fixed the process of redirecting Users to their default Board when a bad URL fragment is identified. 
• We fixed a bug impacting server performance.
