How to make a People List that shows Badges

Display which Badges each user in your List has earned.

The Badge column in People Lists is a great way to identify which Badges people have earned. Visualizing Badges helps you track top performers, determine who might need encouragement, and identify users with specific credentials.

Follow the steps in this support page to learn how to create a People List that displays Badges.

Step One: Create a People List

Your first step is to create a People List, which you can do in the People section or on a Board.

After you create your List, update the filters to specify which users should appear in the list.

Step Two: Add a Badge Column

After you create the People List or People List Card, add a column to display Badges.

If you are using a custom List in the People Section:

  • Hover over an existing column header, and select the drop-down arrow.
  • Hover over Columns, then select the checkbox beside Badges. This will add the Badges column to your list.
  • Your change will not be permanent until you save your List. To do so, select the filter icon.
  • Select the Create New List checkbox, and give your List a title.
  • Select Save. Your People List will now permanently include a Badges column.

If you are working with a People List Card:

  • Select the ellipsis icon on the header of your People List Card.
  • In the resulting drop-down, hover over List and select the pencil icon.
  • In the Edit View window, you can customize which columns appear on your People List Card.

    • Use the Search for columns field to find and select the Badges column.
    • You can also adjust the Min Width and Max Width of the column and customize which columns appear in the expanded Card View.
    • To remove a column, hover over it and select the x icon
  • Select Save. Your Card will now permanently include the Badges column.

Step Three: Customize which Badges appear in the column

Now that your list has a Badge column, you can customize the column to only display specific Badges.

For example, you might want a People List that displays people's Lean Six Sigma certifications. Customizing the Badge column to only show belt certifications will make your list more functional and easy to understand.

If you are using a custom List in the People Section:

  • Select the filter icon to open the User Filter.

If you are working with a People List Card:

  • Select the ellipsis icon on the header of your People List Card.
  • In the resulting drop-down, select Edit. This will open the User Filter.

After you open the User Filter:

  • Expand the View Options. Adjust the options described below to control which Badges are included in the Badge column.

    • Badges Shown: Expand this drop-down to select which Badges should be shown in this People List's Badges column. If none are selected, the Badges column will include all awarded Badges.
    • Badges Awarded: If the Starting field is populated, only Badges awarded after that date will be shown in the Badges column. If the Ending field is populated, only Badges awarded before that date will be shown. Expand each field to select the appropriate dates.
    • Badge Types Shown: Expand this drop-down to select the types of Badges that should be shown in the Badges column.
  • Select Save

You now have a People List with a column showing specific Badges each user has earned.
