How long can I be inactive before being signed out?
A quick guide to timeouts and what keeps your session active.
To keep your data secure, the KaiNexus automatically signs you out after a period of inactivity. This limit depends on your User Type or the mode you are currently using:
- General and Capture Users are signed out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Wallboard and Kiosk Users do not timeout.
- When using Impersonation Mode, you are signed out after 5 minutes of inactivity.
What counts as "activity"?
The system considers you "active" whenever your browser sends a request to our servers. Think of it as "talking" to the system. As long as you’re asking the platform to do something, your session stays open.
Examples of activity:
- Refreshing a Board
- Opening or closing an Item
- Editing an Item
- Navigating to a new page
What does not count as "activity"?
Moving your mouse or scrolling does not count as activity. Because these actions happen only on your screen and don't require the system to process new data, they won't reset the logout timer.
