Filter your Items by a Date Field

You now have the ability to filter a list of Items based on the value within a Date Field on your Templates. This differs from the system coded Date Fields that are a part of every Item such as Created Date, Start Date, Activate Date, etc. These are Date Fields that can be added to a Template where you can choose to populate it just like any other Field. Being able to filter with these Fields, now allows you to narrow down your lists for Items with specific date values captured in that Date Field.

How do I filter by a Date Field?

To filter by a specific Date Field, you need to open up the advanced Item filter from which you want to apply this filter to, then:

  • In the “Pick a criteria…” drop-down, either type in the name of the Date Field you are looking for or scroll down to find a section within the drop-down menu called “Date Fields” where you can select one of the options there.

  • Once you’ve selected your Date Field, additional drop-downs will appear:
    • In the second drop-down to the right, selecting “between” will mean that the date must be within the range set for the “Starting” and “Ending” drop-downs.

    • In the “Starting” and “Ending” drop-downs, you can select the following options to determine the range for the Date Field values.
      • Last 24 hours” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 24 hours from the current time/day.

      • Last 7 days” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 7 days from the current time/day.

      • Last 14 days” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 14 days from the current time/day.

      • Last 30 days” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 30 days from the current time/day.

      • Last 3 months” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 3 months from the current time/day.

      • Last 6 months” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 6 months from the current time/day.

      • Last 9 months” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 9 months from the current time/day.

      • Last 12 months” - If the date within the Field started or ended within the last 12 months from the current time/day.

      • Now” - If the date within the Field started or ended on the current time/day.

      • Custom” - This will bring up the ability to select a specific date for both the starting and ending dates allowing you to specify a desired date range for what should be populated within this Date Field.

    • In the second drop-down to the right, selecting “is Any” will mean that the filter will include any Item that has any date value populated within this Date Field (Any Item where this Date Field is populated).

    • In the second drop-down to the right, selecting “is None” will mean that the filter will include any Item that does not have a value populated within this Date Field (Any Item where this Date Field is blank).

  • When you’re finished adding criteria to the filter, click Save.png  to apply the filter to your List.

 

PRO-TIP: Remember you can apply this filter on your Reports as well!
