Global User Attribute - Persona

KaiNexus has now added an additional way to classify your Users. Previously, KaiNexus Users within your organization and how they used the system were only defined by the User’s Status, or User Type, and their system Role. With the varying differences between system Roles and how people use the User Types, we decided to create a uniform way of identifying and classifying how your Users will use KaiNexus through a new User Attribute called Persona.

 

What are the different types of Personas?

The Persona User Attribute contains the following four values. Users can only be one of the following.

  • Frontline
    This is primarily meant for a User who participates in improvement, but is not responsible for higher-level improvement work like coaching or planning and organizing strategic efforts. Thus they require a simplified view of KaiNexus.

  • Leader
    This is primarily meant for a User who drives the improvement work of their Frontline workers in order to meet the goals set by their Executives. Their view of KaiNexus will likely cater to how they are using the system.

  • Executive
    This is primarily meant for a User who may not be directly responsible for the continuous improvement work done within their organization, but is highly invested in its success as a way to achieve strategic goals. Their view of KaiNexus should be largely simplified and only focus on the visibility of the impact associated with the improvement work and organization-wide KPIs.

  • CI Expert
    This is primarily meant for a User who is actively engaged and responsible for establishing and sustaining the organization’s culture of continuous improvement. Their view of KaiNexus will be the most advanced as they will have the most widespread system permissions across all of their KaiNexus Users. 



Will my Persona affect my level of access or system permissions?

No. This User Attribute is purely used to label and identify your KaiNexus Users so that you have a better understanding of who and how they are using the system. This, in turn, can help admins identify which of their Users need additional permissions and more advanced access or use this Persona to identify who need a more simple experience in KaiNexus.



Who can edit a Persona?

Only User Admins can edit the Persona on Users’ accounts simply by updating their User Profile.



How do I edit a Persona?

NOTE: You will need to be a User Admin to do this.

To edit a Persona on your own account:

 

You will need to access the User Profile. To do so:

  • Click your name in the top right corner of the KaiNexus screen.

  • In the resulting drop-down menu, click UserProfileButton.png.

In the resulting window:

 

  • Click EllipsesButton.png in the top right corner of the page.

  • Click EditProfileButton.png.

In the resulting window, find the “Persona” drop-down near the top right of the window.

  • Select one of the values mentioned above.

  • When you’re ready, click Save.png.



To edit a Persona on another User’s account:

 

You will need to access their User Profile. To do so:

  • Click on the People section People_section.png.

  • Within the People section, find the User whose Persona you wish to edit by either filtering for them or typing their name in the Search bar.

  • Once you’ve found the User, hover over their profile within the People List and click on the Edit.pngalong the right side of the page.

NOTE: This option will only be available for Users in which you have permission to edit.

  • In the resulting window, find the “Persona” drop-down near the top right of the window.

  • Select one of the values mentioned above.

  • When you’re ready, click Save.png.

 

PRO-TIP: A User Admin can also edit the Personas via bulk change in the People section.

 

What are some other areas in KaiNexus where I can see Personas?

Quick Filters - People Section

Using the quick filters in the People section, you can easily filter your People List by the type(s) of Persona that is assigned to your Users in your organization.

You have the option to add “Persona” as a column on your People Lists, both within the People List Section and on your People List Cards.

User Filters - Lists

When you are using the User criteria within the Advanced Item Filter you have the ability to drill into the User Filter.

User Filters - Reports Section

When you are using a number of the Engagement and by Person reports, you have the ability to drill down into these Reports using the User Filter as well.

Roles

You can set a system Role to have a specific Persona tagged to it. This can help Admins determine which type of Users should get this Role. There will be a column that is shown by default for Persona in the Roles page as well.
