Edit a Bowling Chart

Who can edit a Chart?

  • Any of the Authors

  • Anyone with the "Chart Administrator" permission

 

How do I edit a Bowling Chart’s details?

Open the Chart you want to work with, then:

  • Click 2017-10-06_1631.png in the top right corner of the page.

  • Click 2017-12-27_1616.png in the resulting drop-down menu.

In the resulting window, you can:

  • Edit the name of the Chart.

  • Edit any fields and Attributes. The available sections will depend on the configuration of that Chart type as determined by your organization.

  • Edit the parent - this is the item under which this Chart is nested. If you want this Chart to be stand-alone, leave the “Parent” field blank.

  • Check the box next to “Make Private” to restrict access to this Chart to only people on its team or people with the "View Private" permission for Charts in this Location. 

    Leave this box unchecked to allow access to anyone with the “View” permission for Charts in this Location.

Click 2018-05-29_1606.png when you’re satisfied with the Chart’s details.

 

How do I edit a Bowling Chart’s data?

Open the Chart you want to work with, then:

  • Click 2017-10-06_1631.png in the top right corner of the page.

  • Click 2017-12-27_1621.png in the resulting drop-down menu.

On the resulting screen, make sure you’re in the “Data” tab, then proceed.

 

Switch between date or category

If you want to switch the horizontal axis between date and category, click 2016-06-20_1027.png next to “Date” or “Category,” then choose the option you prefer.

Add a data series

If you want to add a new series, click 2018-03-26_1643.png.

In the resulting window:

  • Enter a title.

  • (**Optional**) Enter a description.

  • Decide whether you want the target to be greater or less than the actual data points.

  • Pick a color that should be shown if the target is met.

    Pick a color that should be shown if the target is not met.

  • Check the box next to “Flag if target is not met” if you want a flag to be generated if the actual value entered does not meet the target.

  • Check the box next to “Include Secondary Target” if you want to add a secondary target to the Chart.

    • Pick a color that should be shown if the the secondary target is met.

    • Check the box next to “Flag if secondary target is not met” if you want a flag to be generated if the actual value entered does not meet both the secondary and primary targets.

  • Click 2018-05-29_1606.png when you're done configuring the series.

 

Edit an existing data series

To edit an existing data series, click 2016-06-20_1027.png next to the series's name. In the resulting window, customize the series as described above.

Import your data

If you want to quickly transfer data from an Excel spreadsheet into a KaiNexus Chart, consider using the Chart import function.

NOTE: You can use the import function to update data and add rows of data, but not to add new series or delete existing rows.

Add rows

You can add lots of rows at once by clicking 2016-06-28_1559.png.

In the resulting window:

  • If you’re working with dates: enter a start date, end date, and step unit (day, week, or month). This will determine how many rows are added.

  • If you’re working with categories: enter the number of rows you want to add.

  • Click 2018-05-29_1606.png.

If you just need to add a single row (or multiple rows, one at a time), click 2016-08-23_2009.png near the bottom of the Chart window.

Add and edit data

Once you've added your rows, you can add individual data points. To do so, click on the appropriate column and row intersection, then enter the appropriate value.

When you're finished updating the Chart, click 2018-05-29_1606.png.
