STOP: Is the Incident module active for your organization?

 

How do I open a link?

Open the Incident with which you want to work, then find the link in the Links section and click its name. The website will open in your default browser.

 

Managing links 

Who can add, edit, or delete a link?

  • The Author

  • The Assigner

  • The Responsible Person

  • Any Collaborators

  • Anyone with the "Edit" permission for Incidents in that Location

  • Anyone with the "Assign" permission for Incidents in that Location

  • If the Incident is nested under a Project, the Project's Facilitators, Leaders, and/or Sponsors. If the Incident is nested under a Chart, the Chart's Authors.

 

How do I add a link to an existing Incident?

Open the Incident to which you want to add a link, then:

  • Click 2017-10-06_1619.png in the top right corner of the page.

  • In the resulting drop-down menu, click 2017-10-06_1626.png.

In the resulting window:

  • To add an external link, make sure the “Web Link” tab is selected. Then:

    • Enter the title of your link in the “Name” field.

    • Enter the URL in the “Address” field.

  • To add an internal link to some item in KaiNexus, select the “Item” tab.

    • Search for the item to which you want to add a link in the “Item” field. You can search by title or ID number.

  • Click 2017-10-20_1804.png.

 

How do I edit a link?

NOTE: A link marked with an asterisk signifies that the linked Chart has an Annotation referencing this item. Such a link cannot be edited.

To edit a link:

  • Click 2017-10-03_1414.png in the top right corner of the "Links" section.

  • Click 2018-05-03_0958.png next to the link you want to edit.

How do I delete a link?

NOTE: A link marked with an asterisk signifies that the linked Chart has an Annotation referencing this item. Such a link cannot be deleted.

To delete a link:

  • Click 2017-10-03_1414.png in the top right corner of the "Links" section.

  • Click 2018-04-06_1353.png next to the link you want to delete.
