With KaiNexus 2.2.0, we’ve given you a lot more control over the layout of your templates.

Arrange each panel and component of the “Details” section as you like
Designed to let you make your layouts match your traditional A3 layouts, this feature lets you create multiple cells based on the fields and Attributes in your “Details” section, and arrange those cells and the existing panels (such as the “Team” or “Dates” panels) however you like.
You can have multiple header columns - which will be arranged near the top of the template - and body columns which will be arranged beneath them. You can set the percentage width of each column to decide what percentage of the window each should take up.
You get to control which cells are included in each column. For each cell you add, you can give it a title, choose its minimum height, and specify its type:
- Details - You decide which fields and Attributes should be included. You can choose between any fields/Attributes that are a part of this template. You also get decide whether to include the Locations, dependencies, milestones, assigner approval requirements, and/or legal notice.
- Team - You decide which team roles should be included.
- Dates - You decide which dates should be included.
You also get to decide whether the “Comments” and “Timeline” sections should be included at the bottom of the template. If you choose not to include these sections, you’ll still be able to view them by accessing the associated tabs on any templates.
Hide the labels of fields and Attributes
We’ve added the ability to hide the labels of any field or Attribute on any of your templates. You will still see the field or Attribute’s name listed alongside it when editing or creating a template, but not on the main template page itself.
This is especially useful if you’re using a customized layout as described above. If you have a cell with only one field in it and you’ve given the cell the name of that field, there’s no reason to have it repeated alongside the field.
Decide whether a template should be listed under the “Create” button
Before this update, every template was listed under the “Create” button, as long as you had permission to create that type.
You now have the ability to decide whether a specific template should be listed under the “Create” button. You will still be able to convert an existing item into a hidden template or create a new one nested under another template. This is great to help define workflows and help create a standard for nesting in your organization.
Decide which templates are viable as parents or children
Traditionally, any template can be nested under a Project, and any type of Task can be nested under any Project, Improvement, or Incident (if your organization has the Incident Add-On).
With this version of KaiNexus, we’ve given you more control over what types of parents each template can be nested under or whether it can be stand-alone.
