Add images and Chart thumbnails to text areas

Your organization may have made it possible for you to add images Chart thumbnails to a text area on certain templates.

PRO TIP: If you want to make any of your text area fields able to support images or Chart thumbnails, reach out to your Customer Experience Lead.

How will I know if a text area can hold images and Chart thumbnails?

When creating or editing an item, image supporting fields will have a  icon near its top right corner.

NOTE: If you change the name of an image in the "Files" section, you will need to update it in the text area as well, or else the image will not be shown in that area.

How can I add an image or Chart thumbnail to such a text area?

If you want to:

  • Add an image that hasn't yet been attached to the item, drag and drop it from your computer onto that field. The attached image will be listed in the markdown format. It'll look something like this: "^^Example_image.png^^."

It will also be added as an attachment under the "Advanced" settings.

  • Add an image that has already been attached to the item:

    • Click  near the top right corner of the text area to which you want to add an image.

    • In the resulting drop-down menu, hover over .

    • All currently attached image files will be listed in the resulting drop-down menu. Click the one you want to add.

  • Add a Chart thumbnail:

    • Click  near the top right corner of the text area to which you want to add a Chart thumbnail.

    • In the resulting drop-down menu, click .

    • In the resulting window, choose as many Charts as you want to add in the "Choose Existing" field. When finished, click .
