Manage an Item's Weighted Scores

Learn how to add, edit, and delete a Weighted Score from an Item.

Two Line OfieRequired: Weighted Scores must be enabled on your Item and your Item must meet the Weighted Scores' requirements (as configured by your organization) to perform the functions on this support page.

A Weighted Score is a tool your organization can use to calculate an objective, quantitative value for prioritizing (or giving a score) to Items. It is calculated using the values given to certain Weighted Attributes on the Item.

The weight of each of the Weighted Attribute's values, the calculation used to combine each Weighted Attribute into one Weighted Score, and the availability of Weighted Scores on various types of Items are highly customizable and have been configured by your organization. Depending on its configuration, a Weighted Score may be added to some Items automatically when they are created while others will need to be added manually after creation.

Who can manage an Item's Weighted Score?

If a Weighted Score is available on an Item, it can be added, edited, or deleted by certain people.

By default, anyone who can view and edit the Item can manage any of its Weighted Scores. However, your organization may have configured a Weighted Score such that only people with a certain Role or who are in a certain Location can manage it.

Only the following people can view an Item:

  • Anyone on the Item's Team.
  • Potentially anyone on the parent's Team.
  • If the Item is not private and not in the New status, anyone with the "View" permission for Items in its Location(s).
  • If the Item is private, anyone with the "View Private" permission for Items in its Location(s).
  • If the Item is in the New status and is not private, anyone with the "View New" permission for Items in its Location(s).

Only the following people can edit an Item:

  • Anyone on the Item's Team except for Followers or Participants.
  • Anyone with the "Edit" permission for Items in the Item's Location(s).
  • Anyone with the "Assign" permission for Items in the Item's Location(s).
