      3.0.4 Release Highlights

      With Summer rapidly approaching (in the Northern Hemisphere at least), it seems we are all busy finding the perfect swimming spot and sharing food and company at cookouts. Coincidentally, KaiNexus 3.0.4 is also big on finding and sharing things! Beat the Summer heat by checking out these cool new features:

      • Impersonation Mode. You don’t always have to be yourself! Users with Impersonation permission can log into KaiNexus as another User and view/interact with the platform as that person. This allows admins to better see the experience of other Users, aiding in setup and troubleshooting. Users are notified when their profile is Impersonated and all Impersonation sessions are logged.
      • Recently Viewed. Can’t find that Item you were working on? Clicking on the main Search Bar now displays a dropdown with your ten most recently viewed Items, making it simple to find what you need. 
      • My Locations and Recent Locations. Selecting Locations has never been easier! Much like the Recently Viewed Items above, you can now quickly access your usual Locations and your ten most recently used Locations directly from Location dropdowns.
      • Location Search. If the Location you want is not in your My Locations or Recent Locations, you can now access the Network hierarchy view directly from any Location dropdown, allowing you to select your desired Locations right from the list!
      • Customizable Quick Filters. If you regularly filter for the same things day to day, but don’t want to bother with the Item Filter every time, you’re in luck! Now you can choose which Quick Filters appear at the top of Lists in the Items section and on Boards.
      • Date Quick Filter. Report Cards can be configured to show a Quick Filter for Date ranges right on the Card. Switching from a weekly to monthly summary has never been so quick and easy! Ideal for executives needing quick information or anyone presenting directly out of KaiNexus.
      • Share Lists. You can now "Share" Lists from the Items Section! You can choose to Share Item Lists with your team or other specific Users. This helps Users easily share information with leadership, and even lets administrators create Item Lists for others to use.

      (And to our neighbors on the Southern Half, hopefully all this new hotness will help you stay warm in the coming months!) 

      Improvements

      ADMIN

      • Users can select format options for thousands and decimal separators, globally or per Network Location, so that numbers like “1.000,45” will display correctly for our international customers who use that notation style. This selection will control the format of numbers throughout the platform.

      BOARDS

      • Sharing is caring! “Make Public” has been renamed to “Share”. By default, new Boards are set to private. When sharing a Board, new labels and tooltips make clear which Users, Locations, or Roles will have Viewer or Editor access to it. User Locations will no longer be added under Board Viewers by default when “Share” is enabled. 
      • Board Section Layout options now include “¼, ¾” and “¾, ¼” column styles. 
      • If a Location Filter on a Board does not have a default Location set, the Board Location Filter will remember a User’s most recently selected Location(s) as their User preference between sessions. Users can pick unique Locations for different Boards.
      • Got a Board you visit often? Now anyone can right-click on a Board in the Boards drop-down menu to Pin or Unpin that Board for easy access. Pinned Boards will display at the top level of your Boards drop-down menu. 
      • When managing Boards, Users with a System Role that grants them the Board Administrator permission can now see titles for Boards on which they are not a Viewer, giving them context as to what Board they are viewing. 

      CARDS

      • Date Quick Filter. Report Cards can be configured to show a Quick Filter for Date ranges right on the Card. Switching from a weekly to monthly summary has never been so quick and easy! Ideal for executives needing quick information or anyone presenting directly out of KaiNexus.
      • Users can now hide the Item count on the header of Item List Cards.

      CHARTS

      • In the spirit of our ongoing quest towards simplification, we’ve hidden Chart features like “Add Chart Card” and “Chart Goal” Widgets if an organization does not have the Charts Module active.
      • When copying a Chart, the “Show Time” setting now correctly transfers to the new Chart.

      COMMENTS

      • Clicking back into a Comment field after selecting "Email Now" no longer resets the Email Now Field.

      FEATURES

      FIELDS

      • Headers can now be configured to match the format of the Field text itself, so you can use the header for additional information instead of as a title for the Field or name of a section.
      • Dropdown menus now resize to prevent text from wrapping.

      FRAMEWORK

      • Goodbye, ghost images! Images added and then removed from a Text Field before saving no longer appear in the Files/Images Panel. 

      FILTERS

      • Customizable Quick Filters. Users can now customize Quick Filters on Lists in the Items section. This gives the ability to filter the Items section and Lists in an intuitive and easy way. Quick Filters are also available on Boards: Users with Board Editor permissions can choose which Filters to show and any default values they want to pre-populate them with. This helps Board creators curate better experiences for their Users. 

      ITEMS

      • You can now edit "Review Date" directly from the review flag located at the top of an Item that is marked for Review.

      LISTS

      • Share Lists. You can now "Share" Lists from the Items Section! This allows Users to share Item Lists with their team or specific other Users. It also allows Users to easily share information with leadership. 
      • We reduced vertical padding in the "Last Comment" column in Gantt View to better display the information.
      • Alphabetically sort Users in all Team Roles. You can now sort Sponsors, Facilitators, and Leaders by A-Z in List View by clicking on the header of those columns.
      • We’ve learned that most of you prefer looking at Lists in the Items section in List View rather than Detail View, so we made List View the default View Type. 
      • List names and edited buttons on Detail View have been centered.
      • When a List name is too long for Detail View, you can now hover over the name to view the entire List name.
      • We standardized the gray color used for icons throughout the platform. There is such a thing as too many shades of gray.
      • Save an Item List to your Lists section directly from a Card or Item Workpanel by using the “Save List as” option available under the Actions button.
      • Decimals in currency now consistently display in the $XX.XX standard.

      MULTI-LANGUAGE

      • Added more static text translations–primarily in Reports, User Profile, and People section–as we continue to improve the experience for our international Multi-Language customers.
      • Made it easier to navigate the Translation section of the platform so our Multi-Language Users can more easily find what they are looking for.
      • Want to filter your Users by what language they use in KaiNexus? Within the People section and People List Cards, we added a "Language" column option for Lists of Users.

      NETWORK

      • Location Search. You can now access the Network hierarchy directly from Location dropdowns throughout the platform by clicking on the new Location Search icon that displays when hovering over a Location dropdown. In many cases, this should be faster and easier than searching for Locations by name.
      • My Locations and Recent Locations. Selecting Locations has never been easier! You can now quickly access your usual Locations and your ten most recently used Locations directly from Location dropdowns.

      PDF

      • Tabs in print settings are now consistently labeled as tabs. 
      • Fishbone Diagrams correctly appear within their Panel on PDF exports, instead of getting pushed to their own separate section. 

      ROLES

      • We’re introducing "Role Administrator" as its own System Role permission, separate from “Quality Administrator”, giving admins more granular control over who can edit the Roles in an organization.

      SEARCH

      • Recently Viewed. Selecting the main Search Bar displays a dropdown with your ten most recently viewed Items, making it easier to find what you recently worked on. 

      USER PROFILE

      • Viewing a User’s activity now displays the Items they are working on in List View for improved visibility. 

      Bugs

      • Fixed an issue where in some cases, the background of a Quick Filter dropdown would become transparent.
      • Fixed an issue where in some cases, Users with the Board Administrator System Role permission could not copy Cards to their Boards.
      • Fixed an issue where a User’s pop-up profile would not show properly.
      • Customized Status colors via our Branding Module are now respected on the Create screen of an Item.
      • Fixed some issues with Boards not respecting export settings.
      • Corrected various areas of the platform that did not display special characters correctly.
      • Corrected an issue where editing the name of a List could put it into an unsavable state.
      • Corrected an issue preventing new Users from accessing their “All Items” List in the Items section.
