Release Highlights

3.0.1 is an Olympicture perfect release with un-brr-lievable enhancements to Reports, Badges, UI, and Resolution. After all is sled and done, here’s how KaiNexus 3.0.1 is taking the gold:

  • The Reports are in and the new Template Quick Filter takes the lead! In the Reports section, we added a multi-select drop-down menu for your Templates that allows you to filter your Reports based on the selected Template(s).
  • Back by popular demand, individual Status bars are returning to the Reports section—new and improved. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to add a Status bar for a Workflow or Template to the Reports section.
  • Bowling may have been rejected as an Olympic sport, but we’re being good sports about it and honoring the beloved pastime with new Bowling Chart Reports! Organizations that track monthly Impact (Forecast, Target, Actual) with the ROI Module can run this Report to easily visualize if you’re meeting targets for a specific initiative. This Bowling Chart Report is available for Impact by Person, Impact by Location, Impact by Item, and Impact by Attribute.
  • If 3.0.1 were an Olympic sport, it would probably be curling because 3.0.1 sweeps the competition with UI enhancements. From Boards and Cards to Items and Reports, you’ll be swept away by how clean each section looks!
  • Start your year off on an ice note! For organizations with a fiscal year that starts on a day other than January 1st, KaiNexus now supports configuring a custom fiscal year. This will provide more Date Range Filter options when reporting or refining data. New Date Range options for all Reports include Year to Date, Quarter to Date, and Month to Date!
  • For organizations with Investment enabled as part of the ROI Module, calculate and display ROI values in Reports and within the new ROI Widget Card. This will provide context to the work your organization is doing as part of your continuous improvement culture and the returns it has provided.

Improvements

BADGES

  • Think of it as an award ceremony. Global Badge Administrators can now manually grant a Universal Badge to Users.
  • New “Date Logic” options for Badges allow you to specify a “Created Date” or “In Progress or Completed Date” to grant a Role-based Badge award. “Created Date” will award Role-based Badges based on the Item’s Created Date and include Items in the New Status. “In Progress or Completed Date” will reference the Start or Completed Date of an Item and include Items of all statuses other than Draft, New, and Planned.
  • Striiiiike, you’re out… of office for the weekend! With Badge “Strikes”, you can set a timeframe and allow a certain number of Strikes (misses) within that time frame without revoking the Badge. For example, your organization can incentivize a daily login streak for Users who log in every work day but configure the logic so that the User’s Badge is not revoked when they do not log in over the weekend.
  • Sort a People List by Badge Streak count to recognize Users who maintain their Badges. For example, if your organization awards a Badge for clearing KaiNexus notifications, you can create a List of all Users with that Badge and sort it by highest to lowest Streak count. Users who have consistently cleared their notifications will be displayed at the top of the List like the go-getters they are!
  • Who is the most decorated KaiNexian? Super Badges (and the required Badges nested under them) are now taken into consideration when filtering Lists of Users by Badges.

CARDS

  • Freestyle Cards have been rigorously training to break the world record for Card load time. You’ll notice a boost in load time performance!

FILTERS

  • Use the Template Quick Filter in the Reports section to easily filter your Reports based on the selected Template(s).

PEOPLE

  • Depending on your timezone and the host city of the Olympic Games, you may find yourself waiting at all hours of the day and night to see the people representing your country compete. Luckily, thanks to some performance improvements, you won’t have to wait for your People Lists to load, which gives you more time to cheer on your favorite athletes!

PDF/XLXS

  • When exporting an Item List to Excel, you will notice the new checkbox option “Include Impact Sheets” on the Save XLSX screen. If checked, the Impact sheet will be included in the export with the Impact data.

REPORTS

  • Organizations that track monthly Impact (Forecast, Target, Actual) with the ROI Module can run this Report to easily visualize if you’re meeting targets for a specific initiative. This Bowling Chart Report is available for Impact by Person, Impact by Location, Impact by Item, and Impact by Attribute.
  • Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to enable “Include Status Bar” on a Template or Workflow to add a Status bar for that Template/Workflow to the Reports section.
  • Based on your Template designs, some of your Items may be reportable while others are not. With a new Reports filter option for reportable and non-reportable Templates, you can eliminate discrepancies between completed, reportable Items and the number of Items in a List (which may also include non-reportable Items).
  • We added new Date Range options for all Reports include Year to Date, Quarter to Date, and Month to Date!
  • For organizations with a fiscal year that starts on a day other than January 1st, KaiNexus now supports configuring a custom fiscal year. This will provide more Date Range Filter options when reporting or refining data.
  • For organizations with investment enabled as part of the ROI Module, calculate and display ROI values in Reports and within the new ROI Widget Card. This will provide context to the work your organization is doing as part of your continuous improvement culture and the returns it has provided.
  • “Show Values” is newly available on several existing Reports. Checking this box will display the values on the Report’s visualization. These values will also be included on PDF exports!

RESOLUTION

  • Required Fields and Attributes that have already been filled out prior to submitting a Resolution for an Item can be collapsed on the Resolution screen and displayed in the Details section of the Complete/Resolve screen. This provides a better User experience by only showing the Fields/Attributes that still need to be filled out in order to resolve the Item. If you’d like this functionality, reach out to your Customer Success Manager to enable “Move to Details”  and “Show on Complete” on your Template(s)!
  • Within the Resolution section of an Item, there is a new option to “Add Annualized Financial Impact” making it easier to visualize the number for Recurring and Range Financial Impact that will be calculated in Reports.
  • We’re diving headfirst into the unknown! When logging a quantitative Impact/Investment Type, you can now require an amount before you can either Save the Resolution or Complete the Item. This prevents Impact from being under-reported since Users will have to enter a quantitative amount when logging Impact.
  • Templates with the ability to go straight to Resolve from the Create screen, can now go back to the Create screen from the Resolve screen to change the original information if needed. This new functionality makes it easier to create an Item and resolve it at the same time, which is perfect for Just Do Its!

TEAM

  • Teamwork makes the continuous improvement dream work! The Author Team Role can be added to a Template with an Advanced Team structure. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager for details.

UI

  • It’s a wrap for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and for our Filter criteria and Bulk Change fields. After launching our more readable design in 3.0, we’ve streamlined text wrapping throughout KaiNexus to preserve valuable field and window space.
  • If 3.0.1 were an Olympic sport, it would probably be curling because 3.0.1 sweeps the competition with UI enhancements. From Boards and Cards to Items and Reports, you’ll be swept away by how clean each section looks!

WEIGHTED SCORES

  • In 3.0, we introduced decimals in Weighted Scores. With 3.0.1, we’ve expanded that functionality to Weighted Score Thresholds. Set your Weighted Scores and their corresponding Thresholds to whole numbers or specific decimal places—the choice is yours!

X-MATRIX

  • Just like the X Games respects snowboards, X-Matrix Cards can now respect Board Filter(s). If enabled, the X-Matrix Card will update to show information based on any Board Filter(s) currently in use. This includes the Board Filter and/or Location Filter.

Bugs

You win some, you luge some. Here are the bugs that lost to our development team in this round of squash:

  • X-Matrix Cards will no longer interfere with Board loading when “Location & Below” is unchecked.
  • Fishbone? More like Squishbone! We fixed a bug that compressed Fishbone diagrams in the Mobile App.
  • If you select more than two Templates in "Template" Filter, or Workflows in “Workflow” Filter on "Activity by Location" Report, the filter will no longer reset to show all Items.
  • We fixed a bug with work panels that caused issues when switching between Items in Detail View.
  • On an Item’s panel, selecting a Weighted Score row previously caused the values to hide the Action buttons.
  • We fixed a bug that caused Charts to overlap with Cards when exporting to PDF.
  • Reunited at last! We found our long-lost Ad Hoc Fields that had been missing data in PDF exports.
  • Hey, no cutting! Text and Tooltip Customization Fields were previously cut off but are now free to display their full potential.
  • We improved the mobile display when clicking a link to KaiNexus from an email.
  • The “required” highlight for the "I understand this cannot be undone" checkbox was cut off in the Bulk Delete window.
  • We removed some unnecessary scroll bars that appeared when adding Attributes to an Impact Type or Investment Type.
  • We fixed a bug where inactivated Badges were superseding other Badges.
  • Reduce, reuse, and recycle those Login Notices! We fixed a bug where Start and End Dates could not be cleared from Login Notices.
  • We fixed a bug specific to Safari that added unnecessary scroll bars on Widget Cards with multiple Widgets and the number of columns was set to 1.
  • We fixed a bug that caused Weighted Score Groups to need to be manually changed for each Item after changing the multiplier on the Weighted Score.
  • If an Item with an Advanced Team was in the Draft Status, Locations could not be edited until the Item was moved out of the Draft Status. Item Locations can now be edited in Draft Status.
  • We fixed a bug that didn’t update default Attribute Values correctly for conditional Attributes on the Edit window.
  • For organizations with long lists of Login Notices, you can now effectively navigate to the next page of Login Notices within the Admin section.
