Certifications

To get to this page, navigate to the Admin page by clicking  on the left sidebar menu, look under the Users heading, and click "Certifications." The admin page is only accessible by administrators; only Global User Administrators can perform the functions detailed on this support page.

 

What is a Certification?

A Certification is a confirmation of an employee's qualifications or education.

For example, if you have employees working with Lean Six Sigma, you may want to have Certifications for the different Belts.

 

How do I create a new Certification?

If you want to create a new Certification and have it automatically placed in a Folder:

  • Click on the Folder's name so that it is highlighted blue.



  • Click  in the top right corner.


If you want to create a new Certification and no have it automatically placed in a Folder:

Click  in the top right corner.

In the resulting window:



  • Enter the name of the Certification.

  • (**Optional**) Add a description. This description will appear when you hover over the Certification when editing or creating a user. This is helpful if you want other User Administrators to understand to what exactly the Certification refers before they add it to someone's profile.

  • (**Optional**) Choose an icon (follow the given instructions to find an appropriate icon). This icon will appear next to the Certification when editing or creating a user or filtering a list of users. It's helpful for when people are quickly skimming a long list of Certification.

  • (**Required only if you chose an icon**) Pick a color for the selected icon.

  • Click  to create the Certification.

 

How do I edit a Certification?

  • Hover over the Certification you want to edit so that it is highlighted blue.



  • Click  to the right of the Certification.


In the resulting window, edit the Certification's information as detailed above.

 

How do I delete a Certification?

  • Hover over the Certification you want to delete so that it is highlighted blue.




  • Click  to the right of the Certification.

  • Click  in the resulting window. The deleted Certification will be removed from all users. This action cannot be undone.

 

What is a Folder?

Folders are used to categorize your organization's Certifications. This makes it easier to find the Certification you're looking for when editing or creating a user.
 


How do I create a new Certification Folder?

Click  in the top right corner.




In the resulting window:



  • Enter the name of the Folder.

  • (**Optional**) Add a description. This description will appear when you hover over the Folder when editing or creating a user. This is helpful if you want other User Administrators to understand to what exactly the Folder refers.

  • (**Optional**) Choose an icon (follow the given instructions to find an appropriate icon). This icon will appear next to the Folder when editing or creating a user or filtering a list of users. It's helpful for when people are quickly skimming a long list of Certifications.

How do I edit a Certification Folder?

  • Click on the Folder in the list of Certifications so that it is highlighted blue.




  • Click  to the right of the Folder.


In the resulting window, edit the Folder's information as detailed above.

 

How do I delete a Certification Folder?

  • Make sure that the Folder is emptied of all Certifications and Folders. If it does hold Certifications or Folders, you will need to move or delete them before proceeding.

  • Hover over it in the list of Certifications so that it is highlighted blue.




  • Click  to the right of the Folder.

  • Click  in the resulting window. This action cannot be undone.

 

How can the Certification list be organized?

Certifications can be nested in Folders. They can also be arranged in your preferred order relative to each other, as can Folders. The order that you set on the Certifications page will be reflected on user filters and when editing or creating users.

To move a Certification or Folder:



  • Click it so that it is highlighted in dark blue.

  • Drag it across the list to your desired destination which will be highlighted in a lighter blue.

In the above example, the "Green Belt" Certification is being placed in the "Lean Six Sigma" Folder.

To alphabetize the list of Certifications:

  • Click  in the top right corner.

  • Click This action cannot be undone.
