Incident Attachments

Who can add, edit, or delete an Incident’s attachment(s)?

Any KaiNexus user who has the permission to edit the Incident can attach, edit, or delete files from it. This includes:

  • The author

  • The assigner

  • The responsible person

  • Any collaborators

  • Anyone with a role granting them the permission to edit Incidents in that location

 

How do I attach a file to an existing Incident?

Open 2017-03-06_1134.png the Incident to which you want to add an attachment. Then:

  • Click in the files section located on the right side of the page.

  • Select the correct file from your computer.

OR

  • Drag and drop the file into the files section.

Image files will be displayed in the Image section of the Incident by default. You can edit that file so that it isn't displayed by clicking its name and unchecking “Shown in image area.”

 

How do I attach a file to an Incident I'm creating?

While the Create Incident window is open on the screen:

  • Drag the file you want to attach onto that window.

OR

  • Click 2017-03-06_1135.png in the bottom right corner, then choose the file you want to attach.

 

How do I download an attachment from an Incident?

Open the Incident that holds that attachment:

  • Locate the file you want to download in the files section on the right side of the screen.

  • Click the file name.

In the resulting window:

  • Click 2017-03-06_1138.png.

 

How do I edit an existing attachment?

Open the Incident that holds that attachment:

  • Locate the file you want to download in the files section on the right side of the screen.

  • Click the file name.


You can edit:

  • The file name. NOTE: If you're editing an image file, you must keep the file type at the end of the name or else it will no longer be recognized as an image.

  • The description - this will be displayed whenever you hover over the file's name.

  • If the file is an image, check "Show in image area" to have the image displayed on the Incident's main page.

  • Uncheck "Show in image area" to stop displaying the image.

 

How do I delete an existing attachment?

Open the Incident that holds that attachment:

  • Locate the file you want to download in the files section on the right side of the screen.

  • Click the file name.

In the resulting window:

  • Click 2017-03-06_1140.png.

  • Click 2017-02-23_1240.png.
